We have watch him “walk the talk” for years.  Jay has already help boost Liberty Lake jobs and employment elsewhere in Spokane County through the Stimulus Bill that he supported as a Congressman.

Liberty Lake Jobs Created

The Demand Energy project in Liberty Lake will create and retain about 90 jobs in Liberty Lake of Spokane County.  As part of the Stimulus Package, Demand Energy received a $1.5 million grant to manufacture energy storage devices for on-site users of electricity.  These are used to store electricity during times of the day when there is an overabundant supply of electricity from our power grid for use when there is greater demand for electricity.  This is particularly useful for renewable energy from wind farms, for example, and boosting jobs in Liberty Lake.

A “veteran team of Spokane-area” corporate executives and entrepreneurs from utility, telecommunications, and manufacturing industries began making deliveries of energy-storage units in fall 2011.  The Company has commitments from customers from New York to China that will help increase Liberty Lake jobs, stated the Spokane based Journal of Business.

Jobs Created by Stimulus Act

The 2009 Stimulus Act played a vital role in jump-starting this local business and boosting Liberty Lake jobs and in Anacortes and elsewhere.  The Act has created over 1.5 million jobs nation-wide, according to Moody’s Economy.com and IHS Global Insight.

Tens of thousands of these jobs helped boost Washington Employment.  The stimulus bill helped put Washington to work at

  • Constructing wireless and broadband infrastructure
  • Repairing thousands of miles of roads
  • Cleaning up toxic waste sites
  • Building flood prevention projects

In the state of Washington, the Stimulus Bill also helped employ thousands of

  • Teachers
  • Police officers
  • Firefighters
  • And other professionals
